A tool, not a trading signal

Size the position.
Respect the budget.

Enter your own assumptions. Estimate stop-based cash risk, allow for friction, and round down to the instrument’s unit increment.

Your assumptions

Account currency: USD

All cash values must be in USD, or in one consistently converted currency. No account connection. No data is sent.

Example settings: $1 per point, whole units, $0.20 fees per unit and 0.10 points slippage. Replace these with your instrument’s specifications; they are not live broker rates.

Gaps, insufficient liquidity and order mechanics can produce worse fills. The tool does not calculate margin, currency conversion or correlated exposure.

The calculation, in plain sight.

Budget = equity × risk percentage ÷ 100

Unit risk = (|entry − stop| + adverse slippage) × cash point value + round-trip fees

Size = floor((budget ÷ unit risk) ÷ unit increment) × unit increment

For a long position, the protective stop is normally below entry; for a short position, above it. The calculator uses absolute distance and does not decide trade direction. Cash-per-point must already match your instrument, unit definition and currency.
